Following several years of research, VTT GmbH has developed a new generation of press plates with an ultra-hard metal coating. The coating is applied to both sides of the press plate, but does not affect the thickness of the plate. The surfaces are homogenous, which means that they have no pores, pits or other mechanical surface defects.
The exceptionally high hardness level of approximately HV 1100 [approximately twice as hard as 60 HRc] results in a completely scratch-resistant surface. The use of VTT-DIA-plus press plates makes copper-coated laminates easier to press and reduces resin residues by at least 50%.
VTT-DIA-plus press plates can be easily cleaned using brushing machines. The plates will not be cut or ground and their thickness will not change. Customers who have been using VTT-DIA-plus press plates for years will confirm that they do not need to replace their VTT-DIA-plus plates. In addition, the plates do not need to be reground.
VTT press plate service:
Reprocessing used press plates

VTT GmbH can reprocess used or worn press plates to produce new, fully usable plates. The new VTT-DIA-plus hardened coating guarantees that the minimum service life will be extended by a factor of six. These plates also no longer need to be reground, resulting in significant cost savings.
